Music

In French Polynesia, music has always been very meaningful. Playing an instrument, traditional or not, is something quite common. So, music marks the rhythm of a typical Polynesian day, whether at home or at work. It's the same for the Tahitian party, with friends or family, so called "bringues"

Polynesian CD and tapes production is abundant. Successful performers, like John Gabilou, Maruia or even Fenua, and young talents, such as Tapu Laughlin, are making up the local countdown released every week.

Once a year, the contest " A Star is Born", with John Gabilou, gives a chance to young singers and the Tahitian Music Awards are published.

You will be under the spell of this music, rich of colorful sounds and joy that characterize our islands.
It will remain a wonderful memory and will remind you its so welcoming inhabitants but also the magic moments spend on our sunny beaches.
